TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: Lighthouses * Beaches * Coastal Access * Ocean Views * Seascapes

TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Take a 4-hour afternoon tour of the most accessible lighthouses of Rhode Island including: Point Judith * Beavertail * Goat Island * Castle Hill. I will guide you to some of the most advantageous vantage points starting at the southern shore of RI, moving up the coast, and over the bridge to Jamestown and Newport. Customize this tour as either: a general photography tour of all 4 locations; or for those more proficient, an in-depth lighthouse photography workshop incorporating long exposures, seascape techniques, and advanced compositions of 2 locations. Late afternoon for optimum light, exact time will depend on time of year.

LENGTH: 4 hours -- starting late afternoon for advantageous light conditions. Start time will vary by season.

TRANSPORTATION: Tour participants have to have their own transportation. GPS coordinates and road maps will be given out prior to the tour start.

SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT AND EXPERTISE: DSLR or mirror-less camera with control over focus and exposure. Having various lenses or a zoom lens would be a plus. Optional for advanced photographers: tripod, remote release (tethered or wireless), and ND filters.

We also suggest you bring water and snacks. The tour will end in Newport where there are plenty of opportunities to have a drink and food as we debrief.

PHOTOGRAPHIC FOCUS: I will provide guidance on locations as well as coaching on exposure, and composition.

CANCELLATION: Tour can be cancelled by the attendee for a full refund up to 3 days prior to the event. This is an outdoor tour, which is dependent on weather. We will not be able to take photos in rain or snow, but will provide a rain date close to the scheduled event. In case of tour cancellation or rescheduling, a refund will be issued.
